LGBT Rights, Issues, and Services
- Defending Marriage Equality
In light of the announcement from President Obama regarding marriage equality, we revisit a two part video interview between Chris Wallace and Ted Olson that took place in Aug 2010. Olson, a noted conservative who was Solicitor General under George W. Bush, was the lead counsel for the plaintiffs challenging Prop 8 in California. We believe this interview outlines the best talking points we have seen on why marriage equality is not only important but necessary. This is a conversation that all of us will be having in the upcoming months with friends, colleagues and family members. Let’s make sure that we are well informed so that we can stay focused on the issue of constitutional rights. Please watch…..it is well worth it!
